Meet your photographer- Shannon Boyd

Hey there, friend!

Thanks for being here and welcome to my blog. I can’t wait for you to get to know me a bit better and for me to get to share more of my photography journey with you! If you stick around you’ll get to read all about who I am, how I shoot, the coolest elopement stories, and you’ll also see lots of my favourite elopement galleries displayed in beautiful blog posts. It’s really a win-win, so stick around and let’s get to know each other!

Firstly, I’m Shannon! I’m the lead photographer and owner of Shannon Boyd Photo. I’m an Intimate wedding and Elopement photographer who is OBSESSED with love stories. I’m also a wife of 11 years and mom to a wild little guy who has my whole heart. (My personal favourite love story!)

I was born and raised in British Columbia, and our little family has been in Alberta for the last 10 years exploring the outdoors, camping, dirt biking etc. Basically, we love to be outside!

In 2020 the world changed for so many of us – myself included. When life was forced to slow down I started to explore my creative side and fell absolutely in love with elopements and couples, I have always known that entrepreneurship was something I was interested in. I didn’t fit into the 9-5 box and have always been very passionate about the things I wanted to accomplish. Entrepreneurship always seemed to be where I was headed – I just didn’t know what my full blown passion would be!

While I didn’t start out knowing where photography was taking me it eventually became very clear to me that my heart was in documenting people in love. Seeing their chemistry and making them feel something from my art feels nothing short of magical!

I’m also passionate about herbalism and living simply. You’ll see lots about that on my instagram page and this blog if you’d like to follow along. I’ve learned so much about natural remedies and the healing powers of nature, I feel lucky to have found and cultivated this interest! My biggest dream would be to live off our land and learn all the things are to know about homesteading. In my ideal world this could also be paired with travelling the world as an elopement photographer- what a dream!

As an elopement photographer the most important thing to me is that we’re both  equally invested in each other. I hope you’ll know that I am just as invested in you, what you’re going through and  feeling, and how I can help as you are invested in having a great photographer there to document such a special day. I’m always going to be someone you can lean on throughout this process  and will do everything in my power to make your day a success! I’m also a bit of a goofball with a raw sense of humour –  so hopefully we’ll have some laughs and bring out the best in each other throughout the day!

I hope after reading this you feel like you know me just a little bit better! Wanna be friends!?  I’d love to get to know you too! Leave a comment or follow me on instagram! I wanna hear all of your favourite things and of course your photography questions!

Chat soon,

Shannon
